RecruitMilitary Virtual Career Fairs Deliver Instant Access to Veteran Talent
Attending virtual career fairs continues to provide a cost-efficient method to interact with and hire veterans at a reduced cost per recruit. RecruitMilitary will host its third national virtual career fair on November 20, 2018.
Our last national event more than doubled the number of clients connecting with veteran job seekers, and those numbers clearly tell the story. With 1,144 participating candidates and 61 exhibitors, the event provided a 19:1 veteran-to-company ratio, allowing all participants to engage in meaningful and lengthy conversations. More than 30,500 messages were exchanged between candidates and clients.
A virtual career fair allows companies to create a veteran-friendly environment in custom-built chat rooms and lets them access critical candidate data such as security clearances, rank, experience, and education. Customized greetings, company logos, images, links to career pages and social media, videos, job listings, and contact information can be placed strategically on the landing page.
The most successful companies utilize several recruiters for the event and avoid making candidates wait to have a conversation. There's an average of 3.8 company representatives per event, but some companies have had as many 13 personnel connecting with veteran job seekers.

Past participating exhibitors shared their wins:
• “I’ve already had a candidate apply and have scheduled an interview.”
• “I’m on a roll! I read the manuals ahead of time and jumped right in.”
• “The past two years we traveled over the U.S. for recruiting, but our budget doesn’t really support that anymore. This is a great way for us to still connect with military all over the U.S. without having to leave our offices (or coffee shop today!).”
• “It’s an interesting way of connecting across the nation. We have 33 centers in different states, so this is a cool way of interacting with people from all over. I’ve had a couple of good candidates that we will be following up with after the event.”
At our last national event, one veteran job seeker said, “It’s my first virtual event, and I’m pleasantly surprised how this event was organized. I love how quick and attentive the recruiters are – so convenient not to have to wait in lines. I would highly recommend to other veterans in the future!”
