Quality Candidates, Solid ROI Make RecruitMilitary Career Fairs the Best Way to Hire Veterans

RecruitMilitary works. It’s that simple. We deliver every day on our mission to help organizations excel by attracting, appreciating and retaining America's best talent, its veterans. And we’ve been doing it since 1998.

It’s been our privilege to partner with Disabled Veterans of America (DAV), which served as the title sponsor for 62 of our 106 career fairs in 2016. Other veteran employment leaders sponsored our events as well, including Adobe, Bank of America, BlueLine Rental, CenterPoint Energy, Crosby, Deutsche Bank, Drexel University, Education Corporation of America, Ford Motor Company, Hankook Tire, Highmark Health, JPMorgan Chase, PNC Bank, TravelCenters of America, UPMC Health System, and USAA.

Ford Motor Company, USAA, DeVry University, Union Institute, and Education Corporation of America presented pre-event seminars to veteran job seekers. Our 2016 events were widely promoted by print and digital media, as well as by television and radio stations.

Each year RecruitMilitary surveys both clients and candidates that attend our veteran job fairs. 2016 was a banner year: we hosted 31,502 job seekers, 35.6% of those with active security clearances. More than 40,300 interviews (up to 9 nine per employer) occurred through our events, with more than 12,500 job offers (averaging 2.7 per employer) made.

In fact, we’ve been earning A’s over the last five years with the following favorable ratings from our clients:

Quality of Candidates: 93.0%

Number of Candidates: 90.4%

ROI: 94.6%

Likelihood of Participating Again: 91.0%

Overall Experience: 95.0%

Here’s what our clients thought:

“Great event. When I retired from the military I got my current job from attending this same Career Fair at the exact same location.” (Education Recruiter)

“Top notch, everything was great! I've already referred colleagues to consider RM job fairs in their area.” (Non-Profit Recruiter)

“As usual, one of the best events in the country, by far. The event was fantastic and the candidates were highly skilled. They were telling us that they heard about the fair from multiple sources, which shows a great deal of communication from the event staff.” (Retail recruiter) “The event was excellent. This was a great opportunity to come face to face with a highly skilled labor pool.” (Government recruiter)

Veteran candidate survey results offer these tips for employers:

“Send representatives who are familiar with and knowledgeable about the company’s open positions.”

“Company attendees should be outgoing and enthusiastic. Engage with the job seekers and work the crowd.”

“Accept resumes if you can. Go beyond “Apply Online.” (They can do that from home.) Interviewing on-site is GREAT!!”

“Don’t leave the event early!”

Hiring the right people for your organization is challenging and expensive. The cost-per-hire grew to $4,129 in 2016, up from $3,420 the previous year, according to the Society for Human Resources Management’s 2016 Human Capital Benchmarking Report. Our Veteran Career Fairs offer a unique opportunity to maximize your investment through exposure to hundreds of qualified veterans who are eager, skilled and ready to work – all in one room.
