The Foundation's work day, for full-time staff, generally consists of eight hours of work performed by the employee. Lunch periods are not included in the work day.

The Foundation's normal work hours are between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm (Eastern time) Monday through Friday. The Foundation supports a modified flex time work schedule whereby employees may, with the approval of the supervisor, preselect a starting time to begin work between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Modifications to an established schedule must be approved in advance by the immediate supervisor.

A Foundation employee must have valid authorization to work. A full-time or part-time employee of the federal government may not be an employee (full- or part-time) of the Foundation.

A person under consideration for employment who has a relative (spouse, dependent, mother, father, brother or sister) employed by the Foundation may be hired without restriction providing the applicant is not assigned to a cost center for which the relative has direct or indirect supervisory responsibility. Additionally, an employee will not be reassigned, transferred or promoted into a position or a cost center in which a relative has direct or indirect supervisory responsibility.

The reputation of the Foundation is predicated on the high standards of conduct and excellence demonstrated by its personnel. Supervisors and employees, therefore, have a responsibility to establish and maintain an efficient, professional work environment and are expected to perform the duties of their positions to the very best of their abilities.
