Why Choose CCA - From Camouflage to Corrections
Your military service has honored our country - and Corrections Corporation of America would be honored by your contributions to our company. We invite you to join our team and fulfill your career goals. Who will appreciate your skills in a meaningful career? CCA is one such organization - one with a similar sense of team spirit, pride, idealism, and the desire to make a difference.
On average, 250,000 active duty men and women leave the service annually and transition into civilian jobs. With an average age of 25, those transitioning are excellent candidates for continuing a career in security with CCA.
A Smooth Transition
CCA features a paramilitary structure: a highly refined chain of command, and policies and procedures that dictate facility operations - coupled with an environment that fosters open communication and readily lends itself to innovative approaches. As a result, we find that military professionals experience a very easy transition into the corrections field. The similarities have made CCA an attractive choice for many of the current employees who have joined following careers in the Armed Forces. Currently, CCA employs approximately 17,000 employees, 10% of whom are military veterans.
Each CCA facility has an elite squad of correctional officers, who, after extensive training and qualification, are part of the Special Operations Response Team (SORT). SORT teams are highly trained groups charged with providing a coordinated, systematic response to ensure high-risk incidents are brought to the safest possible conclusion.
Mission Oriented, Results Driven
You will be a part of a strong, cohesive team that adheres to a high degree of professionalism, integrity, loyalty and respect. Military personnel have a proven sense of duty and dedication to unit mission. Your ability to flourish in a structured environment will serve you well at CCA.
"In the military you have to rely on your team, and it is the same at a CCA facility," says Tiffany Williams, Training Manager at CCA's Marion County Jail II in Indiana and Military Police Corps Captain with the Army Reserves. "I value all my coworkers, and we back one another up. We all have the same mission - as we say in the Army, 'Everyone wears green.'"
Diverse Careers and Opportunities
Working up the CCA career ladder provides ample opportunities to learn the complex corrections industry and tailor your career path. CCA has a strong tradition of promoting from within, advancing the careers of those employees who demonstrate leadership potential. Employees can choose from a variety of career paths, from case management to internal investigations to education.
